Rwanda Polytechnic Holds 8th Graduation Ceremony

The ceremony commenced at 6:00 AM and brought together an audience of over 10,000 people, including graduates, families, faculty members, government officials, development partners, and representatives from the private sector and higher learning institutions.

Graduates received Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degrees and Advanced Diploma certificates. Among them, 1,416 students graduated with BTech degrees, representing the second cohort of this innovative program launched in March 2023. The BTech program is a key component of RP’s vision to deliver high-level technical and practical education that aligns with the needs of Rwanda’s evolving economy.

The ceremony also served as a platform to recognize excellence and innovation showcased during the RP Skills Challenge 2025, held earlier this month under the theme:
“Skills for Innovation and Industrial Transformation.”

Winning students received:

  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals
  • Cash prizes
  • Public recognition for their outstanding technical projects and solutions

The graduation was graced by the Right Honourable Prime Minister of Rwanda Dr. Edouard Ngirente, who served as the Guest of Honour. His keynote address emphasized the importance of technical education in national development and encouraged graduates to become agents of change and innovation.

  • A speech by a graduate representative, expressing gratitude and hope for the future
  • An inspirational keynote that motivated graduates to contribute meaningfully to their communities and industries

RP also celebrated the achievements of its best-performing students:

  • Top academic performers in STEM programs were awarded scholarships for further study
  • Graduates with exceptional results received special recognition and support for career opportunities

The 8th Graduation Ceremony was not only a celebration of academic success but also a launchpad for graduates to embark on their next journey — contributing to Rwanda’s socio-economic transformation through skills, innovation, and leadership.

Rwanda Polytechnic extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2025 and appreciation to all staff, partners, and supporters who made this event a remarkable success.
